Retro horror shooter Cultic will release its first chapter in October

The first-person horror shooter Cultic has been given a release date. While a fre demo is available now, the first chapter of the retro horror game is coming to PC on October 13. Those interested can buy it on Steam for $9.99 USD, or your regional equivalent, once it releases.

Chapter One of Cultic will contain a good amount of content for players to work through. You can look forward to ten story maps, various boss encounters, and multiple survival maps. The story maps take place across a variety of suitable spooky locations including an abandoned mining town, an eerie catacomb, and a dark forest.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Cultic is its distinctive art style. It takes inspiration from ’90s voxel-style shooters but has the polish of a high-quality modern indie game. When it releases, Cultic will be a love letter to retro shooter fans looking for a fun and nostalgic experience.

Jasozz Games cites the likes of Resident Evil 4 and Killing Floor as inspirations for Cultic‘s survival mode. Survival mode tasks players with gathering and sharing money between them to afford weapons, ammo, health, and armor. Failing to gather enough resources will lead to the evil cultists overwhelming you. It’s a classic horde mode where teamwork is key.
