There’s somehow very little gameplay from the Gamescom showfloor of Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind, but this video preview from GameSpot hits the spot. In addition to excitable commentary, we get a few minutes of direct-feed gameplay, which shows off the retro beat-‘em-ups delicious pixel art and tight combat mechanics.
Developed by Digital Eclipse, there are clear parallels here to Tribute Games’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Heroes: Shredder’s Revenge. The big twist with Rita’s Rewind – in addition to the time travel mechanic, which should provide a varied assortment of levels – is the inclusion of gimmick stages, like a Space Harrier-style shooting level and a Super Hang-On-esque motorcycle sequence.
Coming to unconfirmed consoles
We can’t wait to see how this game unfolds over the course of its campaign, and as big fans of both the original Power Rangers television show and its various 16-bit adaptations, we’re just hyped to see the series get the modern day adaptation it deserves. While not technically confirmed for PS5 or PS4 yet, the maker has said it’s targeting consoles, and we’d be shocked if it skipped either of Sony’s systems.

Be difficult to be superior to beats of power
I have fond memories as a kid, watching the green power ranger becoming the white one. It blew my mind. I had the sword and everything. So yeah, I’m looking forward to this.

Power Ranger was my favorite show as a kid so I'm really hyped and hope that this one will be good.
