Given how many big games get delayed, many assumed that would be the next on that list and would instead come out in 2023. However, a new report claims that not only is the action game keeping to its 2022 release, it will be coming out in November, as well.
This latest report from Bloomberg sources three people familiar with the game’s development, all of whom provided the November window and denied reports that it was pushed to the following year. Two of those sources also alleged that Sony will be announcing the specific date sometime this month.
Sony never officially gave an exact date or month for , but the report states it was internally aiming for a September release. This can be somewhat backed up by PlayStation Game Size on Twitter, which recently saw the game’s placeholder date change from September 30 to December 31 (it’s more meant to signal a shift in months and not be down to the specific day) in the store’s backend. However, it has been delayed several times internally due to the realities of the pandemic and “other production challenges.” Games still do get pushed, so it’s not a rock-solid guarantee it is fated to come out in November, but that is the plan as of this time.
This clarification comes after a GameReactor report that said the game was being delayed to 2023. The outlet then apologized for its inaccuracy after the Bloomberg article came out.
Worried users had assumed the game had been delayed because of Santa Monica Studio’s secrecy. Aside from the accessibility post about the game in April, there haven’t been any new trailers for it since September 2021. It’s absence from Summer Game Fest Live and Sony’s recent State of Play also proved to some fans that it had been pushed.
