As the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues to rage on, numerous gaming companies have already come out in support of victims of war, whether financially or otherwise. Remedy Entertainment, the game dev studio behind classics such as Max Payne, Control, and Alan Wake, has now pledged its support, too.
Though Remedy Entertainment usually abstains from commenting on geopolitical matters such as these, the company has decided to announce its unambiguous support of Ukraine with a Red Cross donation to help the victims of Russian aggression. Remedy has also promised to provide further assistance to employees both Ukrainian and Russian wherever possible.
The Pokemon Company Releases Statement on Ukraine, Makes Charity Donation
The official statement from Remedy Entertainment is similar to Avalanche Studios' condemnation of the Russian invasion, denouncing the «completely unjust» actions of the Russian regime under Vladimir Putin. The studio has now donated €50,000 to the Red Cross in an effort to alleviate suffering wherever possible. According to the same statement, however, Remedy also is taking more direct action in an attempt to support all of its Ukrainian employees and their families through the Russian war of aggression.
On that note, the statement from Remedy was careful to note that the studio is also supporting its Russian employees who are «appalled by this brutal war,» and who are not responsible for the invasion in any way, shape, or form. The Polish studio CD Projekt RED denounced the Russian aggression similarly, supporting the local humanitarian efforts with donations and other material assistance.
