Rebellion has apologised to players who had been hoping to purchase the recently released Sniper Elite 5 via the Epic Games Store.
The title was originally due to be released on Epic Games Store this week alongside the other versions of the game, which is now available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pass, PS4, PS5, and PC on Steam and Windows Store.
While it had been available to pre-order on Epic Games Store, the title was pulled from the marketplace prior to release and refunds were issued under mysterious circumstances.
Rebellion addressed the situation in the following statement issued to VGC.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control Sniper Elite 5 was not available on the Epic Store at launch but will release on that platform in the future,” it said. “We apologise for any inconvenience.”
The game is currently listed as “coming soon” on the Epic Game Store.
“If you have pre-ordered through Epic, you should have received a refund – if not, please reach out to them here,” reads a statement on the game’s support site.
Some users on Twitter reported earlier this month that they had received a refund for the game despite not requesting one.
