The 42nd Razzie Awards have been presented, with Space Jam: A New Legacy and Diana: The Musical winning big. The Razzie Awards have been a long-standing alternative to the Academy Awards, awarding movies from each year for being the worst in their respective categories. Although the awards have often been controversial (one of their most memorable missteps was nominating Stanley Kubrick's horror classic The Shining for two awards in 1981), the Razzies have been a source of humor during the awards season for over four decades, including a memorable moment where Halle Berry accepted her Razzie for Catwoman in person.
The clear frontrunner this year was Diana: The Musical, which was nominated in nine different categories. While it is only debatably a movie, the Netflix special (which was a filmed performance of the short-lived musical, which hadn't yet opened due to the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down Broadway theaters) was mercilessly mocked by the corners of the internet that love to hate good-bad movies. This year also featured a brand new category, the astonishingly overstuffed «Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in a 2021 Movie,» which featured no fewer than eight Bruce Willis projects, including Midnight in the Switchgrass, in which he co-starred with Megan Fox.

The Razzie Awards have released their official list of winners — or rather, losers — for this year. As was expected, Diana: The Musical swept the categories, bringing home five trophies total.
