PUBG fans were anticipating the mobile version’s update 1.9 release date on March 18, but it turns out we’re getting it earlier than that. It’s rolling out on March 16, and it’s bringing some colorful content.
To celebrate the game’s fourth anniversary, developer Krafton has added a special Colorful Spawn Island, accessible via Erangel and Livik in ranked mode. As the patch notes tell it, you can throw colored balls at four large statues to dye them, triggering a “special performance.” Bikes have also gotten colorful new paint job to celebrate the occasion. Aerial Battleground includes colorful outfits too, but this “vibrant” version of the game mode is “only available in the first five minutes of matches” according to Krafton’s post.
Other update 1.9 additions include camp changes, updated supply shop inventories, and, of course, a new battle pass. This one offers the Wukong Prime Set, Fluorescent Flash Set and themed PP-19 Bizon, Kar98K, and QBZ finishes. You’ll get some goodies just for downloading update 1.9 too. Log in, and you’ll receive 3,000 BP, 100 AG, and the Nocturnal Rhapsody Helmet. See the full patch notes below.
