The official Final Fantasy VII Remake social media accounts are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts series with new artwork that shows Cloud recreating the cover art from the first game. 2022 marks Kingdom Hearts' 20th anniversary and Square Enix is already celebrating the occasion with new merchandise.
The Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series have been closely linked since the beginning, with many declaring the first game to be a crossover between the Disney and Final Fantasy franchises. Seeing characters like Donald Duck and Goofy fighting Sephiroth was something that no one had ever expected to see, yet it happened in the original Kingdom Hearts. There were even some cameos from different Square Enix franchises, with the cast of The World Ends with You appearing in Kingdom Hearts 2.8. Over time, the characters created specifically for Kingdom Hearts pushed the Final Fantasy cast out of focus, with Kingdom Hearts 3 lacking any Final Fantasy characters until the DLC was released.

Twitter page has released a piece of artwork showing the FF7 Remake version of Cloud. The artwork perfectly recreates the cover artwork of the original Kingdom Hearts, with Cloud standing in front of a heart-shaped moon in Traverse Town. The piece has seen a lot of appreciation from fans, with close to 10,000 likes at the time of writing.
