The PS5's DualSense has been one of the biggest leaps forward in controller technology between console generations, setting it apart from its competitors for the last three years. Despite its adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, the DualSense is far from perfect. Its biggest con is the controller's battery life. You'll get six hours out of the DualSense - if you're lucky - but an upgraded version of the controller appears to be on the way.
That's if a listing on Best Buy's Canadian site is anything to go by (thanks, VGC). Still live at the time of typing despite no official announcement from PlayStation, the listing for the V2 DualSense reads much the same as the one for the regular controller. There are two key differences, though. This newer controller will come with a charging station, something you've had to buy separately until now, and boasts a 12-hour battery life, so twice that of the current controller.
Best of all, if the listing is legit and all the details are correct, at $89.99 - that's Canadian dollars - it will cost the same as the current DualSense model. So twice as much battery life and a handy accessory (which costs $29.99 when bought separately) thrown in for good measure but without a price increase.
Even though the store page is live at Best Buy Canada, the controller hasn't been released yet. The options to add to cart or pick up in-store are unavailable which suggests this page has just been created in preparation for when the updated DualSense is officially announced and goes on sale. Like the base model PS5 and its newer, slimmer model, a new DualSense likely means it will replace the old one.
