Since the introduction of the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers, Sony has stuck to a pattern of revealing its free Essential games, releasing them, revealing its Extra and Premium games shortly after, and then releasing those. However, it seems Sony has decided to break from this PS Plus reveal pattern for September.
Fans knew to expect the PS Plus Essential Games for September 2022 on August 31, which include Need for Speed Heat (PS4),Toem (PS5), and Granblue Fantasy Versus (PS4). Yet, Sony shocked many of its subscribers by revealing the PS Plus Extra and Premium games too.
Sony confirmed 17 games that are coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium on September 20. These include some major PS4 and PS5 titles for PS Plus Extra, such as Deathloop and Rayman Legends, but also several classic games for that catalog too, like Sly Cooper and two PSP games.

What's great about this PS Plus selection is that it doesn't just emphasize quantity, but quality too. Fans get the Sly Cooper games, which speak for themselves, but also two PSP games (Toy Story 3 and Kingdom of Paradise) and a beloved PS1 game. It's uncertain why Sony revealed these titles early or if fans should expect the monthly reveal to be all in one
