Indeed, if one compares the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for September 2022 and Sony's approach to there to the August games, it's clear that September's approach is generally better.
Now, it should be noted that Sony surprised subscribers by revealing the PS Plus Extra and Premium games at the same time as the PS Plus free games for September 2022, whereas previous months including August split up the announcements. There are pros and cons to both approaches, but it's not how Sony approached the games in September 2022 it should learn from, but where its focus ultimately was during all of this.

With this shift to the PS Plus tier structure, fans are getting more than ever before (if they are subscribed, of course). Sony jumped from giving out 3-4 games a month to ~20/month now. In doing this, it's super important that each subscription tier retains its core identity and September does that well. There's reason to look at EVERY PS Plus subscription tier. The free games are solid, the Extra tier is adding hot games like Deathloop, and there is a strong selection of classic titles for the Premium tier, including the Sly Cooper collection and two PSP games. It is arguably one of the best months of the year.
