A trio of new Prey clips highlights the heroine's fearsome hunting abilities before her faceoff with the Predator. The prequel to the 1987 action/sci-fi classic starring Arnold Schwarzenegger soon comes to Hulu instead of theaters but promises intense blockbuster action in a setting unique to the Predator franchise. Within the heart of the Comanche Nation in 1719, indigenous warrior Naru discovers that the prey she has been hunting is an alien creature with advanced technological capabilities. It will be this specific Predator's first interaction with the human species, some 300 years before the original alien's guerilla war with Arnold's Dutch.
Amber Midthunder lands her breakout feature role as the fierce female protagonist in the 2022 film. As early synopses and trailers indicated, Naru's initial encounter with the Predator creature leads to her assuming responsibility for defending her tribe against the hunter. The film also aims to portray the female members of Native American communities as equal to their male counterparts. This historically accurate element is not only a landmark decision for Native American representation in cinema but a first for the Predator franchise.
