Square Enix's surprise hit PowerWash Simulator finally has an official release date for its upcoming Final Fantasy DLC, which is going to launch as a free expansion for every owner of the base game on March 2. Billed specifically as a showpiece for some of Final Fantasy 7's most iconic vehicles and weapons, the expansion promises a new set of infinitely re-washable goodies for fans of the quirky sim.
Whereas Square Enix may be best known for its flagship properties, such as the Final Fantasy franchise and the more recent Forspoken, the company is no stranger to funding a variety of other projects too. It just so happens that PowerWash Simulator ended up being one of its more popular smaller-scale investments, and whether due to the game's meme value or, perhaps, because of its zen-like nature, it has only become more popular.
PowerWash Simulator Dev Discusses the Game's Design, Teases New Content
The existence of PowerWash Simulator's Final Fantasy 7 DLC was first shown off late in January 2023, though the free update didn't have an actual release date at the time. Now, however, developer FuturLab has announced that the free Midgar Special Pack would be made available across all platforms on March 2. Players should be able to start washing legendary Final Fantasy 7 items starting at 9 AM PST / 12 PM EST / 5 PM GMT, according to FuturLab's latest post on Twitter.
Much as was the case with PowerWash Simulator's earlier Tomb Raider DLC, this free batch of content features a few notable locations that fans of Final Fantasy 7 will have come to know and love. Specifically, players can expect to clean up the Seventh Heaven bar, the Airbuster, and the Mako Energy Exhibit, as well as the Scorpion Sentinel, Shinra Hauler, and Hardy
