Poppy Playtime's Huggy Wuggy Deserves His Own Spinoff Game
The popular star of Poppy Playtime Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze, Huggy Wuggy, needs his own spin-off game. Huggy Wuggy has already become a fan favorite with Poppy Playtime players and fans of the survival horror game genre, with MOB Games selling a Huggy Wuggy plush toy for fans of Chapter 1's fuzzy blue bear. Huggy Wuggy has earned a lot of media attention due to concerns from parents regarding videos of the character circulating online, some of which have circumvented age restriction filters, making them visible to younger children.
Poppy Playtime's content seems to frequently get around filters, or at least often enough to raise concern from parents and police, due to the characters resembling children's toys. As Poppy Playtime's PC version doesn't have an age rating, some parents took to online to check whether Poppy Playtime is safe for kids. Although MOB Games' CEO was cited as saying the game is suitable for ages 8+, the mobile versions of Poppy Playtime for iOS and Android are rated 12+ and Teen respectively, contradicting this statement. Despite this, Huggy Wuggy has gained a widespread following, including children of kindergarten or elementary school age.

Huggy Wuggy doesn't seem to make an appearance in the game's upcoming chapter, with his fate at the end of Chapter 1 ambiguous. However, Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 cleverly pays tribute to the monster by introducing Huggy Buddies, new mini versions of Huggy Wuggy that come in a variety of colors.
