Pokemon can be very competitive, with fans learning the ins-and-outs of various monsters to figure out who are the best choices for battle. However, the series' main narrative repeatedly comes back to the idea that any trainer and their Pokemon can thrive so long as they form a strong bond. Each monster is unique among its species thanks to stat distributions, abilities, natures, and more, and a confluence of factors leads to millions of potential stories being told in any given title.
