At Halloween, Pokemon will give us Pikachu holding a pumpkin. At Christmas, the mascot dons a Santa hat. Next up, Valentine's Day, so of course Ash's sidekick has been handed a heart to hold. The Pokemon Center's upcoming Valentine's collection is a little different, though. While not extensive, a first look at the items available has caught the eye of fans as not only does it include Pokemon-themed chocolates, but those chocolates come with a Pikachu plush topped with cream and wearing a little apron.
Yes, the plush is as adorable as it sounds, and you can check it out for yourselves in the promotional images below. The smaller plush is the one that comes with the box of chocolates, the Pikachu design on the box and chocolate wrappers based on an older model of the Pokemon that has also been used for the plush. Not many chocolates inside but let's be honest, most people buying the set are doing so for the plush.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the little plush can be bought separately. Combine that with the likelihood these products will be exclusive to Japan's Pokemon Center, we might well have a new high-priced Pikachu plush on resale sites later this year. The good news is there is a plush in the Valentine's collection that will be available to buy without the chocolates. The Pikachu head plush, which also has cream and a cherry on top, will be sold without any extras.
Also included in the collection is a smaller selection of chocolates in a heart-shaped tin, and a Pikachu Valentine's mug, designed to look like it has chocolate spilling over the top and dripping down the sides. Again, no indication that these items will be available outside of Japan, but there will be ways to get them if you want them enough. It
