Pokemon Legends: Arceus has only been available to fans for a short while, yet it has taken over the Pokemon world by storm. The latest entry in the beloved Pokemon franchise has broken sales records, landing itself atop Amazon's bestseller list. Not only is it breaking records in sales, but Pokemon Legends: Arceus is also breaking rules previously set by the franchise. It is the first mainline game in the Pokemon franchise not to be sold as part of a pair of games.

Transporting players to a version of the Sinnoh region inspired by feudal Japan, Pokemon Legends: Arceus allows for open-world areas, similar to the Monster Hunter franchise. Though many were initially disappointed that they wouldn't be getting a true open-world experience, the exploration offered in the latest Pokemon title departs enough from the more linear worlds of the previous games to please fans.
