Pokémon Legends: Arceus is having a Hisuian Growlithe distribution event in the US. This will be a GameStop store event, rather than the previous Pokémon Legends: Arceus online Mystery Gift event, like the early-adopter clothing items that are available in the game as of the time of writing.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is set in the Hisui region, which is an ancient version of the Sinnoh region from Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. One of the big differences between the Hisui and Sinnoh regions is that there are Hisuian variants of existing Pokémon. One of the first Hisuian Pokémon revealed was Hisuian Growlithe, which has a thick mane that covers its eyes and a horn on its head. The standard form of Growlithe that debuted in Pokémon Red and Blue is a Fire-type Pokémon, while Hisuian Growlithe is Rock/Fire-type Pokémon. In addition, because the Hisuian Pokémon developed in a totally different environment to the ones that fans are used to, Hisuian Growlithe has a different look and type compared to the normal version of Growlithe.
