A Pokémon Legends: Arceus player has uncovered a unique glitch that causes parts of the game's map to «explode» on command. The latest entry in the Pokémon series was released only a few weeks ago and is raking in praise from both players and critics for its new take on the tried-and-true franchise formula.
While the Pokémon games are immensely popular, few would argue that they are leading the gaming industry in terms of inventiveness or innovation. Most of the games in the franchise follow a very similar structure: obtain a starter Pokémon, catch a couple-dozen others, level and evolve the ones you have, and battle members of a generic antagonistic troupe. Luckily, Pokémon Legends: Arceus arrived to add some much-needed change to the series by turning it into a more contemporary open-world title. Battles now take place in real-time rather than in some ethereal arena separate from the rest of the map, and players can aim and throw Pokéballs at the game's many iconic creatures in a way that more accurately fulfills the fantasy of being a Pokémon trainer. Of course, with a new approach to game design comes new problems, and although Pokémon Legends: Arceus appears to be up to Nintendo's regular standard of polish, it is reasonable to assume that such a new title might have a couple of unexpected hiccups so early in its life.
