Yesterday, forces from the Russian Federation launched an invasion of Ukraine with tanks, aircraft, and armed soldiers. So far, 137 Ukrainians are said to have died in the largest ground invasion in Europe since World War 2, and many hundreds more have been wounded.
The vast majority of world nations have condemned Russia’s attack on its neighbor and expressed solidarity with the people of Ukraine as they endure this unprecedented assault. And it’s not just national governments that stand with Ukraine, but game developers too. Bungie has just unveiled its Game2Give charity drive will make donations to Ukrainian causes, while CD Projekt Red has just announced its intent to donate to a Polish-based humanitarian organization.

"The recent invasion on Ukraine, our friends and neighbors, left us shocked and outraged,” wrote CD Projekt Red on its official Twitter account. “In solidarity with all victims of this act of aggression, the CD PROJEKT Group has decided to support humanitarian aid efforts by donating one million PLN to the [Polska Akcja Humanitarna].”
One million Polish złoty works out to be roughly $240,000 USD. Polska Akcja Humanitarna (PAH) currently has operations assisting locals in Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya, Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon, and now tragically, Ukraine.
"We cannot remain indifferent in the face of such injustice and we ask everybody to join in and help in any way you can,” CD Projekt added. “Together we can make a huge difference!"
