The remaining fragments of Arceus' egg eventually transformed into fearsome «Giants,» whom Arceus managed to defeat in an intense battle before splitting into multiple beings named Ia and Ea, who became Dialga and Palkia respectively.

These Legendary Pokémon soon created the Lake Guardian Trio of Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf, who proceeded to create a planet.
