Niantic recently revealed a complete overhaul to the way Mega Evolutions work in Pokemon Go, letting players mega-evolve their Pokemon an infinite amount of times once they've spent enough mega energy. It's proved a popular change, and Niantic is now doubling down on Mega Evolutions by introducing Mega Latias and Mega Latios for the first time in its upcoming Air Adventures event.
Announced on the official Pokemon Go website, players will be able to encounter Mega Latias or Mega Latios in Mega Raids starting from May 3. Each Pokemon will have exclusive moves for the duration of the event, with Latias using Mist Ball and Latios using Luster Purge. These Mega Raids aren't here to stay though, and you'll only be able to get Mega Latias and Mega Latios until the event ends on May 10.

Of course, it wouldn't be an event without some additional bonuses, and players will be able to catch a variety of different airborne Pokemon next week. Drifloon, Swablu, Wingull, Magikarp, Doduo, Psyduck, Jigglypuff, Meowth, and Flying Pikachu will all be available to catch, with Charizard and Mantine as a couple of rare encounters. Charizard, Lapras, and Togekiss will all be catchable in Three-Star Raids and you'll also have the chance to hatch Togepi, Noibat, Emolga, and Mantyke from 7 km eggs.
Air Adventures also has some Timed Research and Field Research tasks to complete that will let you encounter several previously mentioned Pokemon and will net you some pretty enticing rewards, such as Mega Energy for Latios and Latias and a guaranteed Flying Pikachu encounter.
