Pokémon GO Mega Moment Special Research Tasks & Rewards Revealed
The «A Mega Moment» event has been announced for Pokémon GO and Niantic has revealed the Special Research Tasks & Rewards for the April celebration. The limited-time event coincides with the launch of the massive Mega Evolution update in Pokémon GO that had been rumored for months. The update brings sweeping changes to the X and Y era evolution mechanic, including a complete overhaul to the Mega Energy system. To help players dive back into Mega's, Pokémon Go is hosting the «A Mega Moment» event which includes a Special Research Story that has a flurry of helpful rewards.
The Pokémon GO «A Mega Moment» event officially kicked off on April 28 and runs until Sunday, May 1 at 8:00 PM local time. Like the April Pokémon GO: Ula'ula Adventure Special Research, players will be able to complete the «A Mega Moment» Special Research Story anytime they want as it does not have an expiration date. Players only need to log in to Pokémon GO by May 1 in order to add the Tasks & Rewards to their account, as the Special Research Story will no longer be available again after the «A Mega Moment» ends.

According to Leek Duck «A Mega Moment» Special Research Story will have a total of four Steps and 12 Tasks for Pokémon GO players to complete. In the Special Research Story, players will get to catch popular Kanto Starters Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander from 1999's Red and Blue. Once players have decided which Kanto Starter they want to Mega Evolve, most of the rewards will be centered around providing trainers with the Mega Energy needed to unlock the Mega Evolution for their chosen Pokémon.
