Despite the continuation of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Niantic's mobile game Pokemon GO has largely been able to weather the storm thanks to some timely updates and changes to the experience. While the game pushes players to get out explore, and meet new people, changes to catch radius and bonuses helped players to continue to play and be safe for a time. While the first event in July took place in Germany and one still to come in Japan early in August, this weekend brings GO Fest to Seattle, Washington in the United States.
