The Pokémon Company has revealed the exclusive plush toys that will be available during the Pokémon World Championships in London and for sale at the pop-up Pokémon Center.
A Pikachu plush, sporting a black beefeater outfit and a Roserade plush wearing the same will be on sale during the event, which takes place in London for the first time ever between August 18-21 at London’s Excel Center.
Those looking to pick up the exclusive plushes will be able to visit the store without a ticket to the World Championships, however, a virtual ticketing system will be put in place, due to the overwhelming demand caused by the last Pokémon Center pop-up.
When the Pokémon Center pop-up store last visited London, the shop sold out of the London City Pikachu plush every day, often before 2PM.
The Westfield Shepherds Bush Pokémon Center pop-up store was open for four weeks between October and November 2019, with daily queues of up to five hours. More than 30,000 customers visited the store, it’s claimed.
The pop-up shop sold a range of Pokémon Center-branded products and offered visitors limited access to a Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield-themed area featuring a playable demo when Sword and Shield were unreleased. It’s unclear if the upcoming games, Pokémon Scarlett and Violet, will be playable at the London store next month.
Permanent Pokémon Center stores have been in operation throughout Japan for several years, offering many exclusive items for sale.
