The Pokemon Company broke new ground with Niantic when they released Pokemon GO in 2016 and since then, the mobile AR game has received countless updates to retain much of its sizable community. Pokemon GO has announced the August 2022 Community Day update and the Pokemon it will center on, a version of Gen 3 Pokemon Zigzagoon.
Pokemon GO has confirmed that the August 2022 Community Day Pokemon is Galarian Zigzagoon, the Gen 8 interpretation of the raccoon Gen 3 Pokemon. Unlike the various shades of brown reflected in the Hoenn regional version of Zigzagoon, Galarian Zigzagoon has thick black and white stripes that transfer over to the evolution of this regional variant, Linoone.
