Fans of popular augmented reality mobile game Pokemon Go would remember how the Pokemon Go Air Adventures, also known as the Pokemon Air Adventures was postponed on July 22, 2021 with the rise of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. Well, there is great news for all the fans. Pokemon Air Adventures has returned! The collaboration event between Pokemon Go and Pokemon Air Adventures is now scheduled between May 3 - May 8, 2022. The global event will take place in the city of Okinawa, Japan and bring forth a wide range of Pokemon-based activities. Read on to check out the details.
Yesterday, Pokemon Go announced on its official twitter account that the Pokemon Air Adventures is back. “Trainers, the Pokémon Air Adventures collaboration event will be taking place this year in Okinawa, along with a collaboration event, this May for Trainers all around the world,” the post read.
The Pokemon Go event itself will kick off on March 19, 2022. Players will get an opportunity to catch a special Pikachu wearing an Okinawa Kariyushi shirt and a shiny Corsola. However, these Pokemons are only available in Okinawa. Corsola can be found in other regions of Japan as well.
Additionally, Pokemon Go players will discover new PokeStops at Poke Lids (special Pokemon-themed maintenance-hole covers) and various Okinawan tourist sites. Under the Pokemon Air Adventures theme, these PokeStops will have unique postcard illustrations not available anywhere else.
Finally, if you’re lucky, you can spot a flying Pikachu with different colored balloons in all areas of Okinawa between May 3-8. The gaming platform has also announced that a special ticketed event will take place in Okinawa from Saturday, May 7, 2022 to Sunday, May 8, 2022.
