Pokemon is a franchise that is constantly looking to put out the next new thing. Whether it be the next mainline entry in the franchise, the next mechanic or Pokemon type to be added that will shift the meta, or the next set of Pokemon creatures to join the huge cast of current Pokemon. With nearly 900 Pokemon for players to catch at the time of writing, many fans of the franchise often joke that there's a Pokemon out there for everyone, considering designs that are based on anything from animals to ice cream.
Since the first generation of Pokemon games, bug-types have been a staple of the series. With the caterpillar Pokemon Caterpie and its counterpart Weedle making their way to Pokemon Red and Blue, fans have been introduced to bigger, cuter versions of the insects they can find in real life. Though not everyone is a fan of bug Pokemon, such as Misty in the original Pokemon anime, there are plenty of people who find bug-types to be interesting and strong Pokemon.

Reddit user ThatOneGuy7832 is pointing out that not all of the bug-type Pokemon are perfect recreations of real-life animals. Arachnids especially seem to be something that the Pokemon franchise just can't get right, as the Pokemon fan shows in their list of all the Pokemon based on spiders. Surprisingly, none of the «spider» Pokemon featured in the franchise have eight legs, something that is generally associated with spiders.
