Sony has officially revealed the design of the PlayStation VR2 headset and controllers, giving VR fans their first look at the upcoming new hardware. The details regarding the PlayStation VR2's features and specifications were revealed in January 2022, alongside the announcement of a Horizon Forbidden West VR title that is in development for the hardware.
The PlayStation VR2's specs were originally revealed during CES 2022. The headset will feature an OLED display that manages 2000x2040 pixels per eye. The screen will have 4K HDR visuals, along with a 120 HZ refresh rate, while the headset will feature eye-tracking capabilities and haptic feedback vibrations using the same technology present in the DualSense controller. The days of needing an external camera are over, as the PlayStation VR2 has cameras embedded into the headset.
