The upcoming racing game Disney Speedstorm has announced that Pirates of the Caribbean's Elizabeth Swann will be a playable racer in the game, adding to Disney favorites already confirmed for its roster. Disney Speedstorm was announced during the recent February Nintendo Direct, but will be available across platforms.
Racing game spin-offs based on huge IP are nothing new, but hopes are tentatively high forDisney Speedstorm. The game will use the free-to-play model, meaning anyone can dive in without spending, though as with many free-to-play games, there's expected to be microtransactions and in-game costs revealed down the line. The game was announced with a dynamic trailer that confirmed a number of classic Disney characters will be available as playable racers, including not just the core Disney crew like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, but also often overlooked characters like Mulan will appear in Disney Speedstorm.

Confirming the news on social media, Disney Speedstorm has officially revealed Pirates of the Caribbean's Elizabeth Swann will be joining the roster of playable racers. Swann joins fan-favorite Pirates hero Captain Jack Sparrow, who was previously spotted in the Disney Speedstorm reveal trailer. It's unclear if the duo will be available in the game for free, or if they'll be racers unlocked through gameplay progression or microtransactions.
