Since long, the iPhone 14 Pro models have been rumoured to feature a new large pill-shaped cutout that will lead to the abandonment of the age-old notch. However, you will be surprised to know, the new pill-shaped cutout will not be on the iPhone 14 Pro models just for aesthetics. In fact, it has a big purpose. The latest leaked clip of the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro cut out will support a selfie camera as well as Face ID hardware. According to the GSMArena report, there will be a system in dual-cutout setup on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max to black out the pixels between the two cutouts. This way, the whole area appears as one solid piece.
A leaked clip on Twitter (which has now been removed), demonstrated how the pill-shaped cut out will merge into one. The report suggests that the area between the duo cutouts is expected to be reserved for the new privacy indicators, which made its debut with iOS 14. What will it do? The indicator will flash an alert for you when an app is actively using the iPhone's microphone or video cameras. That means, if there is an unauthorized usage happening, you will immediately know.

The addition of pill-shaped cutout on iPhone 14 Pro models could free up the corners of the display to keep more status icons. “Apple will use the new cutout to redesign the status bar exclusively for the iPhone 14.
