Rick Sanchez is not a fan of time travel, and one genius Rick and Morty theory explains why. Over the course of five seasons, audiences have come to learn a list of things Rick is not fond of, including but not limited to bureaucracy, family therapy, Jerry, and time travel. As the self-righteous, narcissist character Rick is, he has an explanation as to why he does not like each of those things.

Rick C-137 has been searching for the Rick who killed Diane and Beth for a long time – and since he hasn't found him, there's a chance this is the case because he did it, and not an alternate universe Rick. According to the theory, not having his own time machine and not time traveling often is how Rick can be certain he is not guilty.
