Pedro Pascal says his time with Nicolas Cage making The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent reawakened a passion for acting. Since supporting roles like Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones season 4 and Javier Peña on Narcos, Pascal has become one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood. He now plays the titular character in The Mandalorian and is set to star as Joel Miller in HBO’s upcoming adaptation of The Last of Us. His latest film is the meta-comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, which stars Cage as a fictionalized version of himself.
In Tom Gormican’s film, Pascal plays the billionaire mega-fan, Javi, who pays a cash-strapped Cage to appear at his birthday party and masquerade as some of his most iconic characters. Javi is actually a drug kingpin and Cage attends the party as an informant for the CIA. Like the character he plays, Pascal is quite the Cage fan himself and more than enjoyed their time working together on The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.
