Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen ’s March newsletter is out, and this issue marks one of change. The Producers letter covers a series of improvements on the roadmap, some details on April's pre-alpha test, and more to come.
Since Pantheon has begun monthly pre-alpha tests, the next one is currently scheduled for April 15th and April 16th. Details on what exactly to expect are on the way, but the Producer’s Letter confirms that there will be a new Gathering profession that will come online in time for the test. This will be Woodcutting. The team has made a lot of progress on their Crafting and Gathering systems, so we can expect new ones to continue to roll out during these tests. The next one in the works is Skinning, which will be added in a later test.
For those who want a more in-depth look at the Crafting and Gathering systems, March also brought a new development stream that featured David «Nephele» Beach going into all things progress in the areas of Crafting and Gathering, from UI to mechanics, and other topics like the Cooking system.
The updated roadmap notes that the team has completed class implementation up to level 20 for several classes–Cleric, Rogue,Wizard, Shaman, and Dire Lord. Ability loadouts also got some progress with support for saved loadouts added, including separate ability bars. The starting areas for Shaman and Wizard/Enchanter have also gotten some improvements. Player and NPC models also got some work, along with animations for both.
April’s pre-alpha will also serve to further test performance optimization work,as well as work on the dedicated Persistence server that launched in March. Work on that server continues, with some features and systems still pending.
Overall, progress
