Paddington Bear of the Paddington films has a jubilant afternoon tea with Queen Elizabeth in a new video. The Paddington films consist of Paddington (2015) and Paddington 2 (2018). They are based off of the children’s book series of the same name, created in 1958 by Michael Bond. In Bond’s books, the British bear adventures around, visiting some key British landmarks including Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London. In the recent live-action film adaptations of Paddington, the bear is voiced by Ben Whishaw, who has starred in films such as Mary Poppins Returnsand A24’s dark comedy The Lobster. Whishaw is joined by other well-known British actors including Hugh Grant, Jim Broadbent, Sally Hawkins, and Australian actress Nicole Kidman. Four years have passed since Paddington 2hit theaters to rave reviews in 2018. Paddington 3 is in the works, but has yet to start filming.

But Paddington is still making a media appearance as Queen Elizabeth and Paddington co-star in a new video that BBC journalist Michael Cowan calls “on par if not better than the Olympic James Bond scene.” The two British stars share tea together and eat marmalade sandwiches as Paddington is his typical bumbling self. The video is for the Queen’s Jubilee, a ceremony marking 70 years of her reign. British rock band Queen, now fronted by Adam Lambert, kicked off the Jubilee concert alongside Paddington, who taps along to the «We Will Rock You» opening claps with the Queen. The Paddington video honors the Queen’s legacy with a sweet thank you from Paddington to Queen Elizabeth. Check it out, below:
