Warning: This article contains spoilers for Ozark season 4, part 1
Ozark showrunner Chris Mundy teases story details for the show's final season 4, part 2. With Ozark season 1 released in 2017 on Netflix, the show has become one of the streamer's most popular and well-reviewed original series. Starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, the crime drama series follows financial planner Marty Byrde as he is forced to relocate his family to the Ozarks after finding himself embroiled in a money-laundering scheme for a dangerous Mexican drug cartel.
It was announced last year that Ozark would be ending with season 4, split into two seven-episode parts. Season 4, part 1, which landed on Netflix on January 21, picks up immediately following the shocking finale of Ozark season 3, which ended with Marty and his wife, Wendy, traveling to Mexico at the behest of ruthless drug lord Omar Navarro. Immediately upon arriving, Navarro shoots cartel lawyer Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer) in front of Marty and Wendy, doubling down on his working relationship with the Byrde family for Ozark season 4.
