With Blizzard focusing most of its development resources on Overwatch 2, Overwatch has been resourceful in creating new gameplay experiences without the support it had before. That includes mixing up balance with experimental cards, bringing back past holiday events with new rewards, and the unique Overwatch challenges. In that vein, Blizzard has now announced the next Overwatch challenge event. Starting next week, Overwatch players will be able to experience Reaper's Code of Violence Challenge.
On Sunday, Blizzard shared a message on Twitter confirming that Reaper's Code of Violence Challenge will officially start on February 22. The Challenge will then remain available through March 7, a solid two weeks. Details regarding what the Challenge will entail, as well as its rewards, have yet to be announced. All Blizzard offered up was a short video showing off a pile of Reaper's Hellfire Shotguns and some purple wisps of smoke.

The most recent Overwatch Challenge was delivered in November 2021 with Cassidy's New Blood Challenge. To call it much of a Challenge, however, would be confusing the definition of the word. All Overwatch players had to do in order to earn rewards was play games and watch Twitch streams featuring Overwatch. Playing 27 games (with wins counting as two games) rewarded players with a Cassidy-themed player icon, spray, and Epic skin. Watching Overwatch for six hours on Twitch would reward six total chibi Overwatch sprays.
The Challenge prior to Cassidy's was Ashe's Deadlock Challenge. It too only required players to play so many games and to watch so many hours of Overwatch gameplay on Twitch to earn all its limited-availability rewards.
