One Overwatch fan has an idea for how to get a small amount of payback against players who talk trash and bail on their teammates. They created a mockup of a new user interface for when a player quits, but their team still wins without them.

Reddit user CakasaurusMusic created the mockup and shared it on the Overwatch subreddit. The simple interface consists of a popup informing players of their former team’s victory. “Sometimes,” the example text reads, “we just can’t be there to celebrate wins in person. We thought you should know that against the odds, your team’s courage and determination brought them a well-earned victory at Eichenwalde. Send them a Salute!” Notably, CakasaurusMusic made the Salute non-optional, as it is the only way to close the popup and return to the game’s menu.
While there is nothing openly hostile about the text itself, it comes across as more than a little sarcastic given the context. Still, as one commenter pointed out, the note is neutral enough that it could also work for players who lost their connection or had legitimate reasons to quit. Several commenters, including CakasaurusMusic, agreed, with some Overwatch players noting that they’d like the ability to send a message to teammates after getting kicked from the game.
