Blizzard has officially pulled the curtain back on Venture, the new Damage hero coming to Overwatch 2 in Season 10. Overwatch 2 players have known about Venture for quite some time, as the new hero was confirmed for the game back at BlizzCon. At the time, Blizzard revealed a few details about Venture, but now fans have a full-blown gameplay trailer to check out, along with a proper rundown of the new hero's abilities.
Overwatch 2 fans have known for months that Venture would be debuting as part of the game's Season 10 update. Overwatch 2 Season 10 is coming on April 16, and it's bringing some massive changes to the game. Competitive Play restrictions are being softened, hero buffs and nerfs are on the way, and heroes will no longer be locked behind battle pass progression. This means all Overwatch 2 players will have immediate access to Venture when Season 10 launches on April 16, regardless of if they buy the battle pass or not.
Overwatch 2 fans don't have to wait for Season 10 on April 16 to try Venture out for themselves. Blizzard has confirmed that Venture will be playable as part of a limited-time trial from March 28 to March 31. Blizzard has held these trials for past Overwatch 2 heroes as well. They help give players a feel for the hero and can potentially provide feedback for Blizzard to make adjustments before their official debuts.
Besides confirming the Venture trial, Blizzard also released a new trailer showing off the new hero in action. As seen in the trailer, Venture's weapon is the Smart Excavator, which launches a Seismic charge that bursts after a short distance. Venture's Ultimate is Tectonic Shock, which sends out shockwaves in a manner not unlike Reinhardt's Ultimate. Venture's abilities are Burrow, which allows them to go underground and become invulnerable for a short period of time, as well as Drill Dash, which lets them dash forward.
