Aaron Keller, the Game Director for Overwatch 2, has put out a new dev blog addressing long Arcade queue times, frequency of the Push game mode, hero balance, and the upcoming One-Punch Man collaboration. Here's a quick summary of the blog:
Blizzard doesn't have a solid read on balance for Season 3 as of yet, but if there are any big issues they are aiming to address them before the mid season patch. Certain Arcade game modes have very long queue times, so for the short term Blizzard is looking at reducing the number of game-modes, and combining some into a rotating queue. Long term, Blizzard is thinking of adding new modes or a change to how Arcade works. Push had a modifier to make it appear 30% more often than other game modes, which has now been changed. Aaron does not specify if it's been removed or reduced. Blizzard is very excited for the upcoming One-Punch Man collaboration, and have been looking forward to this for a while. They plan to do more and promise to learn from this collaboration for any future ones. Blizzard values the Overwatch characters and world, so they made the choice to have the characters be themselves dressed up as the One-Punch Man heroes, instead of having the skins be inserts for the collaboration's characters.
