One Piece fans will almost definitely disagree with me, but the anime is bigger right now than it has ever been before, and it has the live action Netflix adaptation to thank for that, at least in part. Whether you liked what Netflix did with its take on One Piece or not, you have to appreciate the additional attention its anime has received off the back of its success. More popularity also means more crossovers, including a collaboration with Puma that will bring four pairs of One Piece sneakers to its stores starting this weekend.
The sneakers at the center of Puma's new One Piece collection all have designs modeled after four of the anime's Pirate Emperors (thanks, Sole Retriever). There are all Puma Suede designs, but their color schemes and other details are dictated by the character that has inspired them. Gear Five Luffy's sneakers, for example, are white and cream with a cloud strip reminiscent of the Straw Pirate's hair extending around it.
The Blackbeard sneakers are effectively the exact opposite. Black all over aside from the gold border around the strip and a golden Puma logo, designed to match the pirate's coat. Shanks also has his own Sneakers which are burgundy with three 'scars' on the sole, which is a nice touch, and Buggy's sneakers are the most colorful of the bunch since, well, he's a clown. A brighter shade of red than Shanks' pair with a light blue strip, and all four pairs have a black and gold Puma charm attached.
All four options will be available in adult, big kids, and little kids sizes through the Puma store starting from March 23, 2024, and the Buggy sneakers will also be available in toddler sizes. As well as the sneakers, One Piece will also be getting a few other Puma-made items this weekend. T-shirts, hoodies, jackets, pants, and shorts all will be available to buy from Puma, either online or in select stores, from this weekend.
This week has been a big one for footwear collaborations. Puma also has a Squishmallows line available
