A long-hidden detail in has been commented on by the game director, revealing an adorable secret. The first entry in the remake series was released back in early 2020 and covered the first portion of the game, set entirely within the city of Midgar. As such, the game’s final moments see the group led by Cloud Strife leaving Midgar after a gruesome and fate-changing fight with Sephiroth.
The next game in the series will be and will follow up immediately after the group’s departure from the city. With it, players will explore a new open-world map, which contains many areas from the classic 1997 title, such as Cosmo Canyon, Fort Condor, the Gold Saucer, and likely even Costa Del Sol. There will be several locations in but, before heading over to the new areas, players were gifted with a piece of trivial information from the previous game, straight from the director, Naoki Hamaguchi.

According to a post made by on X, his cat makes a cameo appearance in. As stated by the developer himself, Hamaguchi has a pet cat called Musashi. This animal served as the model for the cat that appears in-game, leading a group of other cats on top of the wall outside Jessie Rasberry’s family’s house in the Sector 7 plate. Musashi’s cameo appearance happens during a cutscene, while Cloud is waiting outside for the rest of the Avalanche group to conclude their business inside and give him a signal. It is a short scene, but a remarkable one with the additional information.
