Each part of their stories took place in different parts of the map, so the player would be traveling all over the world in order to see everything. Since every character had an ongoing plot, this made sure that all of them felt important in the game as a whole. It was such a successful formula that was back-ordered for months on release. This distinction helped stand out among the crowd, and played a role in making it one of 2018's best RPGs.
