OnePlus launched the Nord Buds earlier in 2022 as its cheapest earbuds, and now it is ready to follow it up with an even more affordable model called the Nord Buds CE. Like wired headphones, TWS earbuds are available at a variety of prices. While some sell for as low as $20, others retail for as high as $249. And while not common, some manufacturers have begun to bundle free earbuds with their phones.

OnePlus will announce the Nord Buds CE on Aug. 1, and ahead of its launch, it has begun to tease its design, features, and price. In terms of appearance, the Nord Buds CE will have an open-fit (a.k.a. half-in-ear) design, much like the original OnePlus Buds released in 2020. This design choice means the earbuds won't have replaceable silicone tips, which should help with passive noise cancellation and also provide a secure fit. In addition, a promotional page shows the earbuds will have a long stem with a recess on the upper part which should be a pressure-sensitive button for controlling playback and calls. It also confirms they will be available in white. Although an earlier report disclosed, there will also be a gray version.
