Kingdom Hearts creator Tetsuya Nomura has shared a first look at the 20th-anniversary art for the series.
March 28 marks the 20th-anniversary of Kingdom Hearts in Japan and to celebrate, series creator Tetsuya Nomura has shared a first look at the anniversary art, as well as a special message.

Alongside the drawing, Tetsuya Nomura had this to say, as translated by KH13, "Good evening. Thank you all for the 20th anniversary messages. The 20th anniversary event is not quite ready, so I don't have anything prepared for now. I have begun on the 20th anniversary illustration since yesterday, and I can't wait to unveil it when it's done."
The art, which is currently unfinished, has a fair bit going on already, so let's go into Kingdom Hearts mode and overanalyse it. In the middle is Sora from the first Kingdom Hearts holding up one finger, while on the right is Kingdom Hearts 2 Sora holding up two. Kingdom Hearts 3 Sora will likely be holding up his third finger on the right side, each noting a game in the series.
In the right corner of the drawing is what looks to be Yozora and Luxord in a suit, which some fans have taken as a reference to the ending of the Re:Mind DLC, which seemed to show a human Luxord acting as Yozora's driver in a pretty clear reference to Final Fantasy Versus 13.
The bottom of the image shows Terra, Xemnas, and Xehanort stood together, which will likely be accompanied by Ansem from the original Kingdom Hearts. Xehanort is stood very similarly to how he was drawn in the Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix artwork too.
