TT Games' newest LEGO title, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, is the studio's most ambitious effort yet, with the full game including over 300 playable characters at launch. Spanning all nine main Star Wars films, players can take control of iconic Jedi and Sith as well as the more minor characters who have appeared over the franchise's 45-year history. It's a pretty comprehensive list, with The Skywalker Saga's Minifigures also packing more detail than ever before.
The Skywalker Saga's characters are separated into classes: Jedi, Hero, Scavenger, Scoundrel, Bounty Hunter, Villain, Dark Side, Astromech Droid, Protocol Droid, and Extras. Many main characters from the movies have versions present in multiple classes, such as Luke Skywalker before he becomes a Jedi. Each of these classes has special abilities used during gameplay in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, whether that be Force abilities or others that influence combat and puzzle-solving.

Although players won't take control of every character while following the main story of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, they should get the chance to do so if they wish by replaying levels in Free Play. It's not necessary to play as every character, but if a player's favorite character doesn't happen to feature in a particular level, and they wish to play as them, then that's an option Free Play provides. Either way, players can expect to spend a lot of their time in the latest LEGO Star Wars collecting studs and Kyber Bricks to unlock their favorite characters, with the game boasting the biggest LEGO roster yet.
