UPDATE: Blizzard has edited their original post, specifying that First Craft experience bonuses from Dragonflight Professions would be the only ones affected by this change — The War Within Profession Bonuses will function as normal for players leveling at or above level 70.
Blizzard has rolled out a hotfix that disables First-Craft Experience bonuses for players at or above level 70 in The War Within.
In Dragonflight, Professions granted a small experience bonus upon crafting a recipe for the first time, known as the First Craft Bonus. This was implemented in order to bring a sense of equality to Crafting and Gathering Professions, since Gathering Professions naturally gained bonus experience via simply looting Herbs or Ore.
While the initial implementation was toned down to 30 First Craft Bonuses, players experiencing The War Within Beta noticed that these First Craft Bonuses carried on into World of Warcraft's latest expansion.
However, with a hotfix this afternoon, Blizzard has disabled this First Craft Bonus for players at or above level 70.
With each First Craft bonus giving roughly 5% experience, this will cut about a level's worth of fast experience gain from players who were planning to utilize their Crafting Professions as a leveling assist.
