Back in February, Nintendo announced Nintendo Switch Sports, a successor to the Wii Sports franchise for a new generation. Nintendo Switch Sports is set to launch at the end of April, so its release date is coming up quick. Nintendo hasn't had a ton of time to market the game before its launch, but it has now released a new trailer giving fans an overview of what they can expect from Nintendo Switch Sports gameplay.
Nintendo Switch Sports takes place in SPOCCO Square, a multi-sport facility that houses all the different sports players will be able to participate in. At launch, Nintendo Switch Sports players will be able to play badminton, bowling, chambara, soccer, tennis, and volleyball, with some of the sports having special modes to check out as well. For example, soccer in Nintendo Switch Sports will make use of the leg-strap accessory (available through Ring Fit Adventure or physical copies of Nintendo Switch Sports), while bowling will let players bowl on lanes with obstacles to make things a little more interesting.
Nintendo Switch Sports To Add More Games After Launch
The original Wii Sports did not support online play, and Wii Sports Club on the Wii U's online play left a lot to be desired. It will be interesting to see if Nintendo Switch Sports online multiplayer is more in line with expectations. Along with the standard local multiplayer options, Nintendo Switch Sports will let players play all the sports online, either with friends or against stranger through matchmaking.
