The initial reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 console could be happening this month, according to rumors circulating online.
Gamesindustry.biz's Christopher Dring revealed earlier today on X that "industry whispers" on the Nintendo console indicate that something related to it is happening this month. While a full reveal is unlikely, there's a good chance that the console will at least be formally announced, possibly with its official name.
While we have to take the possible Nintendo Switch 2 reveal this month with a grain of salt, there's a very good chance that something is indeed happening soon, going by precedent, as the original Switch was first revealed in October 2016. How much we will learn in this initial reveal about the system remains to be seen, but one thing seems to be certain: the wait is almost over.
Despite the reveal happening soon, we shouldn't expect the Nintendo Switch 2 release date to be too close. Recent rumors suggest that the console will not be released in the current fiscal year, as developers have been told not to expect an early 2025 release. The console's release window is not the only thing that is still up in the air, as virtually nothing is known about the console, though other rumors suggest that it should have decent ray tracing capabilities and performance.
