The next Samsung foldable phones will be unveiled in a virtual event at 9 a.m. ET on Aug. 10.
Samsung's Unpacked event will be livestreamed on Samsung.com, and probably its YouTube channel. If you're interested, you can now sign up for a no-commitment "reserve" mailing list on Samsung.com, which will give you up to a $200 accessory credit if you pre-order the new products, Samsung says.
What's coming? The promotional image tells us it'll definitely be the Galaxy Z Flip4, and thus almost certainly the Z Fold4. Samsung Mobile Chief TM Roh told Bloomberg(Opens in a new window) "our operation will focus on a two-track strategy: flagship S series in the first half of the year and innovative foldable lineup in the second half." And here we are in the second half.
Samsung's Galaxy Watch line also tends to be updated in the fall, and Samsung's reserve offers also mention "buds," so new Galaxy earbuds.
What's in the new phones? Leaker Evan Blass has hints about colors(Opens in a new window), while Slashleaks has supposed shots of the Fold4(Opens in a new window) and Flip4(Opens in a new window).
Ice Universe, a well-known Samsung leaker on Twitter, says the Fold4 will be "thin and easy to use(Opens in a new window)" and weigh just under 9 ounces(Opens in a new window). The crease will be less visible(Opens in a new window) on the screen, they say.
Blass also leaked the full design of the Samsung Galaxy Watch5(Opens in a new window), which will come in "Pro" and standard models with LTE and/or Bluetooth connectivity. The Galaxy Watch5 runs Google's Wear OS with Samsung's One UI Watch extensions.
